Perhaps you are a traveler who likes to immerse yourself in the local cultures like us. Many years ago, we learned that the best way to travel is to get a life experience when traveling to another country; for us, the beauty of traveling is to be able to tell a story to others and treasure it for the rest of our lives.
As we are now in the picturesque town of Hoi An, Vietnam, a country we have learned to love because of the great food, places to see and its beautiful people, our goal is to make a connection with the locals. A few days ago, as we were riding our motorcycle to look for a good place to eat, once again we got very lucky and found a little hidden jewel.
Right at the center of Hoi An, just a few blocks away from the old area of the town, we found a little eatery that seemed to be the perfect place to sit down and enjoy a simple and cheap local meal; their specialty, chicken, and rice. A fluffy light orange color and flavorful plate of rice with a delicious chicken drumstick marinated on their homemade sauce all for 35,000 Vietnamese Dong ($ 1.50 USD).
The friendly and welcoming face of the owners of this street stall without a name had us sold from the beginning. For us, an authentic smile is worth much more than anything else when it comes to the places we choose to eat or buy pretty much anything, but this little eatery is the perfect combination of both and that means the world to us.
While having dinner today at this great little place for the third time in a week, we just had to laugh about ourselves and also discovered that it is a well-known place for locals as well and if you feel a little more adventurous, they also serve chicken rice porridge, Shredded chicken with sauce over rice and hot chicken broth. Our plan is to definitely return to this great place and try out other dishes.

Como siempre, nuestro objetivo en este viaje es hacer una conexión con los lugareños. Hace unos días, mientras manejábamos nuestra motocicleta para buscar un buen lugar para comer, una vez más tuvimos mucha suerte y encontramos una pequeña joya escondida.
Justo en el centro de Hội An, a pocas cuadras del casco antiguo de la ciudad, encontramos un pequeño restaurante callejero que parecía ser el lugar perfecto para sentarnos y disfrutar de la comida local simple y barata; su especialidad, pollo con arroz. Un plato de arroz esponjoso color naranja claro con un delicioso muslo de pollo aliñado en una salsa casera, todo por 35,000 dong vietnamitas ($ 1.50 USD).
La cara amigable y acogedora de los propietarios de este puesto callejero sin nombre nos había atraído desde el principio. Para nosotros, una sonrisa auténtica vale mucho más que cualquier otra cosa cuando se trata de los lugares que elegimos para comer o comprar casi cualquier cosa. Este pequeño restaurante es la combinación perfecta de ambos y eso significa el mundo para nosotros.
Mientras cenábamos hoy en este pequeño lugar por tercera vez en una semana, tuvimos que reírnos de nosotros mismos y también descubrimos que es un lugar muy conocido para los lugareños. Si te sientes un poco más aventurero, también en su menú tienen mazamorra de arroz con pollo, pollo desmenuzado con salsa sobre arroz graneado y caldo de pollo caliente. En los próximos días, nuestro plan es definitivamente regresar a este gran lugar y probar otros platos de su pequeño menú.
