The city of Shanghai, is worldwide known for its economic power and the place where there each day there are more millionaires. The streets of Shanghai  that are plagued with luxurious cars varying from the basic Mercedes Benz and BMW to the Maseratis, Bentley’s, Lamborghinis and Ferraris, you will also find these tricycles roaming next to them; a sight that will amaze anyone visiting the city.

After observing these modern working horses, you will notice that they are not only a working tool, but also what is responsible for the fast changes in this huge city. You will see tricycles loaded with wood from a construction or a demolition, recyclable material, crates and anything that you can imagine. These tricycles are present on the streets of Shanghai performing heavy work at all times of the day and night.

Based on my observations, there are three types of tricycles roaming on the streets of Shanghai. The first one is the common old pedal tricycle that itself must be at least 20 kilos. The second type is the industrial tricycle, factory made and equipped with a few rechargeable batteries and a small electric motor, which powers the rear wheels with a chain. The third one is a combination of the two above mentioned. Due to its heavy weight, some owners have restored the traditional pedal tricycle and themselves have equipped them with batteries and a motor, but have left the pedals on them, perhaps in order to continue using them when the batteries have lost their power.

Next time you are in Shanghai, take a closer look and look for these simple, yet amazing working horses of modern China, because as fast as they work to help in the everyday changes of the city of Shanghai and many others in China, perhaps the day will soon arrive in which they will also be forbidden and pass in history.

Veras a estos triciclos presentes en las calles de Shanghai realizando trabajos pesados ​​en todo momento del día y de la noche.

Según observaciones detalladas, hay tres tipos de triciclos itinerantes en las calles de Shanghai. El primero es el viejo y tradicional triciclo de pedal común que debe pesar al menos 30 kilos. La próxima vez que visites y camines por las calles de Shanghái, echa un vistazo más de cerca y busca a estos caballos de hierro de la China moderna.
