We traveled to Guatemala during the Christmas and new year 2023-2024. It was a new experience for my wife, but I had visited this country in 2010. I wanted to share with her the magic I had experience in this Central American country. I had loved the people, its culture, the nature and the food. Returning to Guatemala many years later proved once again a great experience. One place we really enjoyed was Volcan Pacaya. I had been there in July 2010, a month after an eruption had left over 1,600 locals evacuated, and journalist Aníbal Archila had been the only casualty while reporting on the eruption.
