The famous Coast to Coast walk in Singapore

If you ever visit Singapore, you will quickly discover the many things The Little Red Dot (nickname) has to offer. People that travel to southeastern Asian countries, usually base their destinations on the overall cost, and for this, some stay only a few days and some decide to skip Singapore as part of their travel plans. Singapore is definitely more expensive than most Asian countries, but it also offers many activities which are basically free or cost very little.

If you like exploring the outdoors, want to get in shape, and love different experiences, this is for you. One the most common activities in Singapore is to complete Coast to Coast (C2C) walk. Completing the C2C or part of it will undoubtedly give you a sense of accomplishment. The experience alone will automatically change your status from a simple tourist to a traveler. This experience is sure to separate you from the conventional visitors to Singapore.

C2C trail all for ourselves

If you are looking for a unique experience in Singapore, challenge yourself to the C2C. We are sure you will go home with a completely different opinion of this country. All you need are a pair of comfortable walking shoes, shorts, a shirt, a cap, plenty of water, sunscreen, and a daypack for any essentials. Walking 36 kilometers in one day was a big challenge, but the experience was unique. Most important of all, we were able to immerse ourselves in the many cultures within Singapore.

The challenge

Don’t be scared by the 36 kilometers of the C2C. You do not have to walk all of it. You can choose a segment that you want to walk based on your time, interest and physical capacity. Oh! and don’t worry about food or drinks along your walk as Singapore is famous for food. Cheap eats in Singapore are sure to delight anyone, even the picky eaters, vegetarians, and vegans. You can find the cheaper eateries known as Hawker Centers or small coffee shops all over Singapore. Below we inform you of the ones we visited along our journey on the C2C.

To make sure we completed all 36 kilometers of the C2C, we woke up at 4:30 am and began walking by 5:15 am. Our adventure had begun near Cooney Island by marker number 9. After walking a couple of hours, we had met with our friend Rachel who had decided to join us. By the end of the day, we had walked 44 kilometers in total walking around the Jurong Lake Gardens as well. We hope that you challenge yourself to the C2C. Happy walking, happy discovering!

Keep traveling, keep learning!
